A useful guide for the medicine cat or healer that happens to forget, this guide describes the uses as well as helpful tips for medicine cats in training! (or forgetful ones)Alder Bark
Bark which can be harvested from any alder tree.
The bark is used for toothaches.
Blackberry Leaves
The leaves from blackberry bushes.
The leaves are used for bee stings.
Borage Leaves
The leaves harvested from the blue (or pink) borage plant.
Herb is used to treat fevers, but commonly used for helping nursing queens bring up their milk supply.Not as popular as catmint, last resort.
Burdock RootHarvested from the burdock plant, roots must be dug up.
Used for treating infections and rat bites.
CatmintCommonly found in Twoleg nests that have kittypets.
Used for treating greencough and whitecough.
CelandineThe yellow flower must be harvested and chewed for proper use.
Mainly used for eye injuries, the juices must be placed in the eyes. Cannot cure blindness, only eases pain.
ChamomileThe white flower must be digested for proper use.
Used for calming down cats going through intense shock, or a nervous breakdown.
Chervile & RootsThe chervile and roots have different purposes.
Chervile is used to treat bellyaches, while the roots are used to help with infections.
Chickweed
Alternate treatment for greencough.
Coltsfoot
Another alternate for catmint.
Alternate treatment for whitecough, and can be used to ease an ill cat's breathing.
Comfrey
The bell like flowers must be chewed up for proper use.
Comfrey is applied to broken bones to aid in mending, however it will not 100% heal all bones.
Daisy Leaves
Harvested from the daisy.
Used to soothe aching joints.
Dandelion Leaves
Even weeds are useful!
An alternate method for calming down cats suffering from a nervous breakdown or severe shock.
Dock Leaves
The leaves must be harvested from dock, and chewed for proper use.
Applied to nettle stings, also quite useful for sore paw pads.
Elder Leaves
Grandpa wishes to help, must be chewed.
Mostly only used for healing sprains.
Feverfew
The flower must be ingested by the ill cat.
Used for cooling down feverish cat's heads and treating headaches.
Goldenrod
This herb is used to make useful poultices, it must be chewed and applied to the wound or area.
Used to treat stiffness and aching joints, also used for severe injuries.
Goosegrass
The entire plant must be chewed up and applied onto the wound.
Used for treating bleeding wounds.
Horsetail
Must be chewed up and applied.
Used for treating infected wounds.
Juniper Berries
The berries must be harvested only. It must be ingested by the ill cat.
Used to treat bellyaches, and an alternative to calming down a cat going through intensive shock or a nervous breakdown.
Lavender
The flower must be eaten by the ill cat.
An alternate use for treating cats going through intensive shock or a nervous breakdown. Also useful for masking the smell of the dead.
Mallow
Flower must be chewed up and applied to injured area.
Fights infection, but also used for bee and wasp stings. [/blockquote]
MarigoldThe flower must be chewed and applied to the wound.
Commonly used for trying to ward of infections, can also be used for sores.
Nettle LeavesMust be harvested with great care to prevent nettle stings, chewed and applied to injured cat.
Used for keeping a wound from swelling.
Nettle SeedsAgain, harvested with great care to prevent nettle stings. Poisoned cat must eat.
Used to counter the effects of weak poison.
Oak LeavesMust climb up oak tree and harvest from, must be chewed if used to to fight infection.
Used as an alternate to cobwebs, and can fight off infection.
ParsleyOften harvested from twolegs, but can be found in the wild.
Used to stop the mother producing milk, it is used to dry up her milk flow and can be saved for later.
Poppy SeedsHarvested from a poppy. Be careful with dosage you are giving to patient to eat, they can die of overdose or have their health negatively affected.
Numbs the pain, and or helps sleep. NEVER give a kitting queen this.

Used to treat aching joints.
Raspberry LeavesThe leaves of the raspberry bush must be harvested only.
Used to soothe a queen's pain during kitting.
Snake RootThe root must be eaten by the ill cat.
Used to counter the effects of poison.
TansyMust be eaten, or chewed depending on use.
Can be used to stop coughing, must be chewed if using to heal wounds.
ThymeMust be eaten.
Another alternate use to helping a cat going through shock, or a nervous breakdown.
TormentilMust be chewed, or eaten. Depending on how it is used.
Used to counter the effects of poison, or treat wounds.
WatermintMust be eaten by the cat that is suffering from illness.
